Best Friends Forever

Evie's best friend, Mariah and her new baby sister, Ava are in town.. We had a lovely afternoon shopping and just hanging out. Evie and Mariah are just a week apart in age, and now their siblings are three weeks apart in age. Who could have planned that any better!

Too funny! Evan is becomming quite the character! He loves to make silly faces and sounds and then it cracks him up. Evie thinks the world of her silly little brother.

He's doing wonderfully with sleeping at night.. so is Evie, by the way.. both in bed around 7 pm and asleep by 8.. he gets up about 2 am to have some milk and a diaper change, then back to sleep until about 6 am.. more milk and new diaper.. and back to sleep until around 9 am... then he'll stay awake in the morning and visit with me and take his long afternoon nap about noon until 3 or 4 pm,, what a life, huh?
He went grocery shopping with me today while Evie stayed home with Daddy.. he was so sweet smiling at everyone that looked in at him. He's got quite the personality already.. and is becomming a bruiser.. He's getting so big!

Second Week of School

Evie starts her second week of school today.. she seems to like it, although she never wants to talk about it.. I ask a million questions because I am excited and it just seems like another day to her.
Here's me: "So what did you do today?"
Evie: "play"
Me: "Did you read any stories?"
Evie: "yeah"
Me: "What were they about?"
Evie: "I don't remember.. can you just let me play now?" LOL
Then last Friday, her lunch box still had all of her food in it, just slightly mangled.. and her pudding wasn't even opened.. so Daddy had a talk with them this morning at drop off and they said they would monitor her eating (i.e. open her pudding for her). I just can't believe my little girl is in school!!!

Smiles for Miles

My boy is such a smiley boy! All I have to do is say "Are you gonna smile for me?" and he is all smiles.. I took these pics tonight with the different stages of him smiling...

My Little Buddy

Just a couple of pictures that I took today of my buddy.. I thought he looked so playful and sweet playing on his mat and he turned to smile at the camera several times.. unfortunatly I have to wait for the flash and red eye, so I always miss the smile.. but this one was cute anyway.. Now, for the second picture.. You may notice the background is familiar.. I used to put the camera on the microwave and do the self portraits of me when I was pregnant.. well this is the same thing.. only I'm not pregnant anymore! Got my little bundle up front still, in his sling, (which he loves some times and hates others) We do several positions in the sling to see which he likes best.. seems the semi-cradle, where he is half in and half out cradled works well but for this pic, I chose the front facing because he looked so darned cute!
He's growing so fast.. gaining weight like crazy! I got on the scale with him yesterday and it seems he weighs close to 10 pounds! His official weight will be taken on the 17th.. by then, who knows what it will be!! He eats like a wild boy.. 5 to 6 ounces per feeding (I only know that when he gets the bottle).. What a handsome boy!

The Teachings of a Big Sister

Tonight Evie taught Evan all about the new toys that hung from his play mat. She talked thoroughly about each one, showing him how they worked and sounded. Evan seemed pretty interested in the whole class.. cooing and watching every move. In the last picture, you can see him talking to her. They are funny together already!
