Sweet Treat

Last night, my Evie and I decided to make rice krispy treats together. She loved eating off of the spoon.. it's funny how things taste better when you make them yourself.

dimples

My Evan has one dimple in his right cheek.. Daddy makes him smile so easily!

Perfection and best friends

Here are a few pics taken by my friend, Hope, and a picture of Rhylan and Evan together.. they are just a couple of weeks apart and will soon be best friends just like Evie and Rhylan's brother, Brayden. Too cute!

Being home is so nice!

Well.. Evan is 4 days old now.. he does nothing but sleep and want to suck.. that's it.. literally. At night, he wants to sleep as well.. BUT the hitch is that he wants to nurse or be held.. So sleep is a problem for us if we don't want to be up holdinghim.. during the day, he will sleep anywhere you put him.. and doesn't require being held. We need to find a way to reverse this!

Big sister, Evie is doing a great job trying to keep him awake for me but he is relentless with his wanting to sleep.. and after all, he is only 4 days old, so I guess I need to expect that. She loves to hold him as you can tell by the various pictures of the two together. So far, things are going very well!

Welcome Baby Evan!

Thanks to Hope Hegarty for the first two pictures!

We just got home! Evan Matthew Hoctor was born on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 2:35 am
weighing 6 lbs. and 2 ounces and 19 inches long. He's a tiny guy and has a dimple in his right cheek that's oh so cute!
Big sister, Evie is loving her new role although she was a bit hyper tonight when we got home.. She just went to bed, (only an hour late), and seems like she will do just fine with the new family member. I am still fighting bronchitis and Daddy is coming down with a cold and has to wear a mask around the new baby. We'll get through it, though!

Thanks to Joe's Mom and Dad for their help, and to Kylla and Hope for bringing premie clothes to the hospital for Evan and Hope for taking pictures that I can't wait to see!
We took some pictures ourselves so I thought I'd share them with ya!

coffee with my girl

Evie and I went to our local coffe shop this morning (Villa Caffee), to get a coffee and a cream cheese croissant for me and a hot chocolate and giant blueberry muffin for Evie. We went through the drive thru and brought it home so that we could just relax! I thought she looked so grown up and sweet drinking her hot chocolate and hanging out with me that I snapped a few pictures. It's hard to believe that in a week or so, it won't just be me and her anymore. We've become such best friends and do so much together, that I'm having a hard time wanting to share my affection with another child. I know I'll get over that, but it just means that my little girl is growing up. We'll always be best friends.. I just cherish this time with her.

Coming down the homestretch

Well.. we are almost at 37 1/2 weeks. 38 weeks is when the doctor wanted me to go. My cervix is soft and I'm slightly dialated, however, for the past 2 weeks I have had a terrible chest cough that has developed into bronchitis, so now the doctor wants me to get over this cough and recouperate before having to try to push this baby out while being sick. Evan is ready to come out.. contractions all of the time, I'm swelling like crazy.. (my feet look like huge pillows), my back is starting to hurt if I sit in any position too long.. the worst right now, though, is the pain in my chest from coughing. Doctors orders are antibiotics, an inhaler to help with the breathing, pills to help with the coughing, no housework or being outside for long periods of time, lots of fluids and rest. We're trying to prolong Evan from trying to come this week! Next week is the big week, so I have to get better NOW!
Well.. I look pretty miserable in both of these pictures, but thought I'd show ya what the end of my pregnancy looks like!
