Welcome Baby Evan!

Thanks to Hope Hegarty for the first two pictures!

We just got home! Evan Matthew Hoctor was born on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 2:35 am
weighing 6 lbs. and 2 ounces and 19 inches long. He's a tiny guy and has a dimple in his right cheek that's oh so cute!
Big sister, Evie is loving her new role although she was a bit hyper tonight when we got home.. She just went to bed, (only an hour late), and seems like she will do just fine with the new family member. I am still fighting bronchitis and Daddy is coming down with a cold and has to wear a mask around the new baby. We'll get through it, though!

Thanks to Joe's Mom and Dad for their help, and to Kylla and Hope for bringing premie clothes to the hospital for Evan and Hope for taking pictures that I can't wait to see!
We took some pictures ourselves so I thought I'd share them with ya!

Coming down the homestretch

Well.. we are almost at 37 1/2 weeks. 38 weeks is when the doctor wanted me to go. My cervix is soft and I'm slightly dialated, however, for the past 2 weeks I have had a terrible chest cough that has developed into bronchitis, so now the doctor wants me to get over this cough and recouperate before having to try to push this baby out while being sick. Evan is ready to come out.. contractions all of the time, I'm swelling like crazy.. (my feet look like huge pillows), my back is starting to hurt if I sit in any position too long.. the worst right now, though, is the pain in my chest from coughing. Doctors orders are antibiotics, an inhaler to help with the breathing, pills to help with the coughing, no housework or being outside for long periods of time, lots of fluids and rest. We're trying to prolong Evan from trying to come this week! Next week is the big week, so I have to get better NOW!
Well.. I look pretty miserable in both of these pictures, but thought I'd show ya what the end of my pregnancy looks like!

34 weeks

This is a pretty terrible picture of me.. we had just gotten home from the pool, but I wanted to snap a quick shot..
34 weeks now.. almost there.. I have one more visit to the doctor this Tuesday before I start going every week. I'm getting so big and uncomfortable at this point.. the doctor says I am maintaining my weight well and not gaining too much, but I am definatly getting bigger! It's all baby! We have decided on a name, for anyone that we haven't told yet.. It wil be Evan Matthew. So we will have our Evan and Evie... too cute, huh?
He's so active in the womb, makes me nervous that he will be a hellraiser.. but the doctor says that just means that he is very healthy.. and I'm glad of that.
I have decided that I will only work two days a week the next three weeks and then take my leave.. unless I just can't handle it anymore.. everyday that I get to work, I feel like I can't do it. We just get so busy there and it seems like there's no time to relax. I feel under pressure to perform at my regular speed and then I'm hurting when I get home, not to mention my ankles and feet are swollen. On my days off, I can at least take a short nap, or sit with my feet up.. I've actually been spending alot of time in the pool with Evie. Her swimming has gotten so much better (it was already great), and I am getting a killer tan! The heat is a bit much for me, but I just get into the pool and relax when it's too hot.. it's the walk back to the car that gets me.. I can never wait to get home and climb into bed for a nap while Evie watches a movie or takes a nap herself.
Anyway.. pregnancy is going well.. but I can't wait for it to be over!

A Baby Shower

Today while my little girl was fishing with her Daddy and Grandpa, friends of mine threw me a baby shower! It was a lovely day and fun to just hang out with the gals!
Got lots of cute and much needed things for the new baby boy! We saved a few of the large things that we had when Evie was a baby, but most things, after 4 years, we needed to replace and since this is a boy, most things of Evie's were not gender appropriate anyway :o)
My friend, Dee was kind enough to open her home up to our friends and a few of my coworkers, as well as getting the most beautiful and best tasting cake I have ever had, Kylla headed the games and helped with decorating, Amy made the punch, my mother-in-law brought food, and Donita took pictures for me! It was certainly a group effort and I appreciate everything that was contributed.. I couldn't ask for nicer friends and family!
Here are just some of the pictures that Donita took today!

The beautiful and delicious cake!

The clay babies that we all sculpted as a shower game.. mine was TERRIBLE!

Pictured are Katie, Kylla, my mother-in-law, Dori, and Juli.

28 weeks belly shot

Well.. I officially swallwed a watermelon! LOL
All of you pregnant Mamas out there... Don't you just love when EVERY older man walks up to you and looks at your belly and says, "You know what causes that, dontcha'?" I swear.. I hear that 12 times a day at work... at least! They always act like they are so clever and they are sure that they are the first one that ever thought of saying that... Yesterday I finally told some guy " Yeah.. I swallwed a watermelon seed" and another guy I told it was a bee sting... That let them know that they weren't as clever as they thought! LOL I just think it's hilarious that it's so common for men to say.. and women just ask when you are due... (we are ALWAYS the smarter, more tactful of the two genders!)

I figured I was slacking in my pics, it's been 5 weeks since I first showed the tummy. (Kylla was brave enough to show her bare belly.. that aint happenin' here!) LOL

Sonogram today.. What gender, you ask?

So it's official!
I'm having a boy... I soooo love little girls but am somewhat relieved that it's gonna be a boy. I don't want to have to share my "Princess" affections with another girlie.. I'll love my boy just as much.. but I know it will be different.
I'm at 20 1/2 weeks.. I'm over halfway done!
Hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful weather! It's 80 degrees right now here in Illinois... pretty amazing considering we had one of our worst blizzards two weeks ago. It's supposed to rain and cool back down to the 40's starting tomorrow though.. I knew it wouldn't last :o( But Evie and I enjoyed our day today. We had our doctors appointment, then went to the mall to play for about an hour.. then to "Za's" for Pizza with Daddy.. then to the park to play with all of her friends and THEN (I know.. we were busy), to get ice cream with her friends Brynn and Aidan. Now she's asleep and I'm on my way to do that as well! I'll marinate some steaks first so that they'll be tasty tonight when I toss them on the grill!
What a lovely day!
I'm on the hunt for origional boy names! (Haven't thought of one yet) Joe and I keep jokingly throwing our favorite names out there .. Ones that we would NEVER use.. I keep saying "Joaquin" and he keeps saying "Anakin" LOL Too funny!

Send your names to me !!!!

Enjoy the rest of your day!-Tina
