Crazy Midwest Weather!

Okay.. so I get home from Florida and it's in the high 70s.. beautiful! I thought that spring was here.. so today, it's been 38-40 degrees, freezing cold.. off and on sunny.. and on my trip to Blockbuster Video a little bit ago, it was sleeting!!!
VERY cold and rain mixed with sleet and snow... Now the sun is out.. I mean it's as sunny as it can get! I'm tellin' ya.. the weirdest weather imaginable!
So here's what we got...

Back from Florida

Hey everyone! The kids and I just got home from Florida. We drove a fun car, a "Dodge Caliber" which, for the record, has excellent gas mileage. It was tough managing things with me and both kids alone.. staying in 4 different hotels because I am picky and I wanted different locations.

We went to my Grandmother's house and saw my Mom, my Grandmother, sister, aunts, cousins and uncles and my neice.

We had lovely 86 degree weather with a nice breeze. Perfect for the beach. Evan and Evie had a great time digging in the sand and Eve played in the ocean.

We also went to the Florida Aquarium and Evie and Evan played a bit there.. on the pictures in my slideshow of us and the aquarium you can see a humoungous cruise ship behind us. (The Florida Port Authority is right behind the aquarium.)
My friend, Coleen met us there and we had a nice visit.

Then on to visit with family some more.. at one point, we had four generations in a picture. Very cool! Grandma seemed to know who I was, which really pleased me, (and her!) I hope it's not the last time that I will see her, but I had to treat it as such.. us being so far away and all. It was also nice for My Mom and sister to see the kids. My sister had never met Evan and had only met Evie once when she was 2 years old.. so that was nice as well.

Well.. I'm tired, Evan is napping, Evie is crazy and I need to shower and get to Evie's kindegarten registration/open house for parents in a couple of hours.

(oh! And p.s. You'll see a picture of Evie with what LOOKS like a trash can... it's really a "Lalee Lolee" (shhh... don't tell Evie it's a trash can) LOL In the movie "Star Wars IV, A New Hope", there is a droid that looks like a trash can.. for some reason, she has named it a Lalee Lolee.. and it's kind of stuck with her... when you see her, be sure to ask her about it! LOL)

Heading to Florida

Well.. in a last minute shuffle, I have just booked airline, rental car and hotel accommodations for me and the kids to Tampa/Spring Hill, FL leaving tomorrow night. My Grandmother has been struggling with strokes, a broken leg, and some memory loss. She keeps having these frequently in the last couple of months and the doctors say that she will keep having them now until she just may not wake from one. We fear that her memory and mind may go completely soon and she wants to see her family before that happens. My mother and aunt are flying down tomorrow, my sister is there now and so it seems only natural that me and the kids go. Joe can't get away from work, which sucks. I would love to have him there with us. Me and 2 kids alone? It's gonna be kinda tough but they are my buddies. We got a non-stop flight out of Indy and Joe will take us. My friend, Hope will pick us back up on Tuesday. So Those of you who normally see us at Monday Mania.. we won't be there this week. Also I am keeping Evie out of school tomorrow.. (meaning that she has missed a week now due to slight fevers)

Pictures and updates when we get home! Hopefully the kids and I will have time to do a tiny bit of vacationing..

Finally Trying to Crawl!

YAY! My boy is 9 months now and is trying to crawl! He gets on his knees from a sitting position and rocks a little, reaches for what he's after and than if he can't get it, he returns to his sitting position. And just this morning he tried scooting on his tummy forward, (he has been only scooting backwards lately.. LOL).

Of course, he looked so cute last night after his bath trying to crawl on my bed while he was naked, so I snapped a few pictures.

Evelyn Marie is 5 years old today!!!!!!!
She had a lovely Princess Party today with 10 of her best girlfriends complete with dress up, tiara making and a fashion show!
What a beautiful and sweet bunch of girls!

I wasn't gonna post pics of all of the girls in attendance but I got so many nice closeups of them all and they were so sweet for me that I just had to! I won't post their names, though! They are Evie's closest girlfriends!














Then we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. The Roadhouse gals made Evie feel special.. putting her up on a saddle and yelling at the whole place about her Princess Party and being 5 years old.. she got a big "YEE HAW!"





She also got to do a line dance with them.. (I have video of that as well!)


And here she is baking her very first batch of cookies all by herself with her new Easy Bake Oven.. they tasted YUMMY!



We had a fantastic day! Evan was a sweetheart through it all!
another year gone.. sigh.. my baby girl is growing up!

Spring is here!

What a perfect weekend! We got a new car, it was sunny and 67 degrees, and we spent some time at the park with friends!

We are now proud owners of our first "family" car!
It's a 2006 Grand Caravan, magnesium is the color.
This is the actual van, but the picture isn't from today, (as you can see there's snow on the ground) Today it was 62 degrees and a LOVELY day to look at cars!

Evan has been pulling himself up a bit lately.. usually just on my pant legs and now in the pack and play in my room. I open the curtains and let him look out as I am getting ready in the bathroom right next to him. So yesterday he looked so cute pulling himself up on his knees to see out the window..
