Sitting up?

Evan was sitting up by himself today when holding on to his new toy from Uncle David and family. He probably lasted about two minutes holding it and leaning towards it to try to eat it.. LOL then he leaned too far to the left and toppled over.. he always acts like it hurts so bad when his head touches the blanket.. he barely fell.. it's not like it was a long way down or a fast fall.. he barely taps the floor! And he cries like it's the worst thing that has ever happened to him. I can tell he may be a bit dramatic already...

Then I tried to get him to lay on or sit up against his new pillow from Aunt Catherine and Uncle Stephen, and he acted afraid of it... cried and cried when I put him on it. So Evie laid on it and made Evan laugh.. he thought she was so funny and was having a great time so I laid him next to her.. I got a great picture of him smiling on the pillow with her..


Then very shortly after, he realized that he was laying on the froggy pillow that he was afraid of and his big bottom lip came out and he started to cry. I kind of got that shot as well.. not the biggest part of the lip.. but you can tell he's about to be unhappy.

The whole family is in town this weekend!

The Hoctor clan came into town today.. all minus Angelique who is back to living in Florida.

We celebrated Christmas, and three birthdays... Joe's, David's and Catherine's.

Evie had a blast playing with her cousin Joel... and Evan was a very good baby. Very tired, though. We didn't get home until after 9:00 which is VERY late for the baby who goes to bed around 6:30 pm.

We had a lovely day! Everyone is leaving tomorrow.. we're sad.. wish we could have visited longer! Love you guys! Thanks to Mom who made a lovely dinner! It was fantastic!

Baby Playgroup day

Today was baby playgroup day at Kylla's house. We usually don't get to make it to this group because Friday is one of the days that I usually work, but for some reason, I wasn't on the schedule today. I really love and miss this group! The babies are so sweet together!! Evan also had fun in Rhylan's Exersaucer.

The First "HootOwl" Playgroup

The mom's group that I belong to (Mothers and More), had our first new playgroup tonight called "HootOwl".. standing for "Husband Out Of Town Or Working Late". It's just what it sounds like! A group of Moms with our kids that are without hubbys from the time of 5:30-7:30 pm. Joe was home tonight after 5 but I really wanted to take Evie, so we let Daddy take Evan home with him and put him to bed so that Evie and I could spend time with our friends. Tonight we went to Jupiters 2. It's a pizza/pool and gameroom/bar with a kids sized bowling alley.. lots to do! We had a blast! Evie kept telling me that she loved me on the way home.. she really appreciated being able to go and have my undivided attention.


We had 12 moms there (and two dads) and about 21 kids. (I'm guessing.. but I think that's really close) They really acommodated us very well!

Evan had his first taste of veggies last night.. sweet potatoes! Yum! He loved them! Evie did the feeding.. I'm thinking that may become her new job so that I can get stuff done while she's feeding!





She also tried to teach him how to play "Star Wars" on XBOX. So cute to watch her explain the characters to him.

Today was eventful... We went to playgroup at Jen's house so Evie could play and so that I could have some time with my friends.. it was nice to see Evie playing with her girlfriends.. I have to say, she has the sweetest friends.. on our way out, as I was putting on Evie's coat, Evan was wailing. Anna and Alex were over him singing songs with their sweetest mommy voices and trying their best to help him. While we were in the driveway, I looked at Evie and said "You sure have nice friends".. she said "Yep! I sure do! They're my best friends!"

Then we took Evan to the doctor because he has a cold with some wheezing.. my little boy had to have a breathing treatment.. I felt so bad since he is only just over 5 months old and Evie has had to deal with that crap so much in her short life already. He looked so sweet, though.. he sat there quietly and patiently and breathed in the mist for about 8 minutes until it was finished and Dr. Gilpin listened to his lungs again and said that the treatment had cleared him up nicely. So there's no bronchitis or pneumonia, which is fantastic news.. just a cold that has to work it's way out of his system. Until it does, though, he has to be on the nebulizer 4 times a day. He takes half the dose that Evie does so we use half of her vials.. you know, she's supposed to be on that thing 4 times a day as well.. how am I gonna get BOTH kids on it 4 times a day? I'm not.. we are just gonna do the best that we can.. and get them on it when they need it.

Anyway.. This afternoon, after we got home, They were both in great moods lying on the floor together, so I snapped a few pictures.
