Evan first REAL haircut!
It was getting terribly long.. and people were starting to tell me about it.
At 14 months, I didn't want to do it, but he looks so handsome!

Here he is before any snipping was done.. (his bangs were trimmed by me a couple of weeks ago so they aren't terrible but you'll notice above the ears are long)


And during the haircut:



He was a great boy! He didn't cry.. only fidgeted and pushed her away a few times. The stylist didn't miss a beat.. just kept cutting! It was a great experience!

Here he is getting his reward after being a good boy.. playtime!

Evie's 2nd martial arts graduation!

YAY! Evie is a "Tiger Patch"! A Tiger Patch is a mid term graduation promotion that is added to an orange belt. She wears an orange "Tiger" headband and a patch on her belt.

In 8 weeks, if she passes her tests, she will be a yellow belt! Hard to believe that she is advancing so quickly.. but she is just enjoying this so much and doing a fantastic job! She received gloves and boots that she will start using once a week in class to get her used to sparring gear. We can't thank the Newberry Family enough for their great support in Evie's accomplishments! They are the best teachers in martial arts, PERIOD! I'm so greatful that we chose them over all others because of their family oriented class, their discipline and the love and kindness they show my daughter and the other students. Master Tina Newberry even took time out of her hectic schedule to talk to me on parental stuff at my request... who does that???!!!!

All Aboard!

Yesterday we took the kids on their first train ride in Monticello. They loved it! Evie and Daddy rode in the outside car so it seemed faster for Evie, Daddy said that it was the best way to ride. (They started out the short leg of the ride inside with us) Evan and I stayed inside but I had the window opened wide for Evan to stick his head out of and he did.. he enjoyed the lovely 73 degree weather.





Then we went to a fantastic German restaurant in Gibson City.. Bayern Stube.

The kids had fun and enjoyed the food.. as did Joe and I.. German is my FAVORITE food!

It was a lovely weekend.. one of the best that we've had in a long time..
I hope for many more this fall as we LOVE this weather!!

Today we went to a playgroup at the park with friends. Evie and buddy Brayden played a bit...


Evan and Rhylan hung out on the slides together... truth be told, Evan is not a big fan of the slide but he tolerated it enough for the pics..

I love it!



Then we went to Halloween USA, our fave store.. just opened for the season this weekend... bought lots of stuff to decorate our sunroom with. Halloween is our favorite holiday!

What a great day!! Hope to have another one tomorrow!!

Wanna know who cut it?! ME!!! I did it myself and he sat so beautifully for me!
Smiled and looked up at my fingers.. so glad I was the first to do it.. now I gotta see if I can scoop up enough to save.. there wasn't much since I didn't touch the back.

Thanks to everyone who told me that it was getting into his eyes.. LOL Alyssa, your comment on one of my entries the other night made me realize it! LOL

More new eyeglasses

Evie got a couple pairs of new eyeglasses today. I liked that she could switch from her pink pair...



to her brown pair (that upon viewing this picture need adjusted!)



But I really wanted her to have a plastic pair as well...



And she fell in love with these light purple ones and would not accept, "No, you are only getting one pair", for an answer..



probably because they have magnetic sun clips



So now, she will have a different pair for different outfits!

Today is Tuesday

Tuesday evening.. nothing going on.. thinking about playing "Pirates of the Caribbean Online" in a bit..

Kindegarten is going well with Evie.. she's loving her new teacher, classmates and riding the bus.

Evan is being a cutie.. taking about 3 steps at a time and them getting back down on his knees to get to where he wants to go..

Other than that.. nothing new.. I uploaded some pictures of the kids from over the weekend.. they were being silly in the van..I like to open the windows full bast so they get pummelled with wind.. They LOVE it!
