Saturday Fun

Today the kids, Joe and I went to a business fair at the high school here in Mahomet. They had alot of fun picking up little gifts, (pens, lightup keychains, frisbees, etc) from the local business booths, there were inflatable bounce houses, which Evan refused but Evie jumped around in for a while, and Evie got her face painted by the coolest and fastest artist I have ever seen!

They even had a cute display with kid sized exercise equipment next to the chiropractic booth.

Pics!!!

A New Ride

Evie and Evan got a present from Grandma and Grandpa Hoctor last week. It's a Jeep Hurricane Power Wheels. Evie is almost too big but Evan isn't big enough to drive it so she doesn't mind driving him around one bit. :o)
Here are some cute pics!

Happy 7th Birthday, Evie!

What a fun day!
Evie had her 7th birthday party today and it was a "fashionable" event.
We had lunch complete with champagne glasses filled with fruity punch, dancing to some of their favorite songs.. (see below for video), they designed their own flip flops that turned out beautiful, played a game called, "Pass the purse" where there were gifts for everyone, and got fashion makeovers! Makeup and hair was provided by myself, my friends Jessica and Hope plus my sister in law Katie. The girls left with cute purses filled with accessories.

A good time was had by ALL! Even Joe got a major kick out of it.. and the girls were AWESOME! Evie's got some fashionable, cool friends!

Hope took a massive amount of pictures for me, as always.. I'll post my faves!!!
Enjoy the video of the girls doing the "Cha Cha Slide" and the pics!

Easter 2010

Happy Easter 2010!

We had a lovely Easter at home this year. We woke up to find that our colored eggs were hidden around the house and baskets were left by the Easter Bunny. The kids played with thier new toys and hunted throughout the living room for eggs. This was the first year that Evan really understood what putting eggs in a basket were all about. He was such a sweety.. and Evie was nice enough to leave him the easy ones.
Then we went out to the park at Evie's school and had a picnic and although it was very windy and eventually rained, we were able to spend a good 2 hours out there playing. Evan used more words like, "Come on, Mommy" and "hold hands" was what he'd say to me when we'd go down the triple slides together. Joe and Evie explored the school grounds and played games. Then we grabbed some Krispy Kreme doughnuts and went home to relax. Joe's parents stopped by for about a half an hour to bring the kids gifts and then more playing and hiding Easter Eggs outside while the neighbor girl, Gracie came over to hunt with the kids.
We couldn't have asked for a nicer day! Oh... except Evan was afraid of the Easter Bunny this year! So it's just Evie in the picture.. but she looks so sweet!!!

Road Trip!

Hey all! The kids and I went to my parents house in Mississippi over Spring Break. Joe stayed behind to work, but we did fantastic! The kids are seasoned travellers now! Little to no fighting or complaining. They watched DVD's, (mostly "Wow Wow Wubbzy") and ate snacks. We left in the afternoon on a Wednesday night and did about 5 hours of driving, stayed at a hotel in Sikeston, MO to swim and rest for the night. Then picked back up the driving around 8 am Thursday morning. We drove until 4 pm and we were there! The kids enjoyed seeing their grandparents and my niece, Christina made the trip from Alabama by herself as well! It was so great to see her! Evie took to her immediatly and the two girls played their Nintendo DS's together.

We loved the 75-80 degree weather there and Evie took time to sunbathe on the cement.

So, you know those big, fat, fuzzy bees? Forever I always thought (most of us do) that they are bumblebees or can sting you. They are much fatter and act like a bee.. but It's a type of bug.. Evie was nervous of them when we first got there.. they were flittering about everywhere because of all of the trees and flowers, but my Dad quickly educated her about it not having a stinger and not to worry about them.. and from that moment on, she never did. Christina didn't believe him so he posed a challenge for her.. he would prove it didn't have a stinger if she could catch one in his hat.. something he said was impossible.. they are too fast! She caught one.. but injured his wing a little so we're not sure he made it.. still, it was cool to see him up close with NO stinger and no way to bite.. just a big furry bee looking thing. Still can't find one online anywhere to show you or get a name.. but here's the picture I took of him on one of the flowers that Dad was holding..
By the way.. Evie picked him up freely with no qualms, as well as caught a lizard that nipped her and she just pulled him off and kept playing with him LOL

Evan enjoyed playing in the dirt...

And here are the rest of the pictures that we took with my camera.

Miss you guys already!
