Evie's Progress Chart

My little Evie sure does love to snuggle up in our bed! We have been battling her sleeping in her own room for.. well.. ever! We finally decided a couple of months ago that a King Sized bed would solve the problem.. we figured that if she was going to be sleeping in our room anyway (fighting with her in the middle of the night is more exhausting that putting up with her feet in your ribs)..we'd at least have more space.. It did work for a little while.. but we still wanted our bed to ourselves and finally started a "Progress Chart" last month.

Her weaknesses have always been 1. sleeping in her own bed ALL NIGHT and 2. picking up her toys.
So! That was our focus for two weeks.. the reward would be anything that she wanted.. but she had to determine what that would be at the beginning of the two weeks so that we had something to work toward. She chose the "Ariel Mermaid Vanity".. partly because she kept seeing it at Toys R Us and loved it.. but she also saw a picture back in December with her friend, Olivia and her vanity.. so for those two weeks, the incentive was to get "what Olivia has" LOL and believe me, it worked! She got a sticker each night for picking up toys and each morning for staying the bed all night (something that has rarely happened in the past), and she only missed ONE night on account that she had a dream that there were "beetles" in her bed (She is her mother's daughter for sure!)
It was so exciting for her to put the last stickers on the chart.. we went straight to Toys R Us that night and bought the vanity!

We are currently working on another two week chart focusing on the same things (I wanna make this a long term habit), and after this two weeks, we'll focus on something different, but she will have to keep up on the other two things (without having to be reminded). This has been working beautifully!
Her behavior lately has been superb as well.. she has her three year old tantrums, like all do, but she has been very polite most times, and quiet in restaurants, etc. I'm very proud of her!
