Happy Father's Day

Hello everyone!
We had a lovely day in this 93 degree heat. We took Daddy to Cracker Barrell for breakfast, then took Evie to the eye doctor for a checkup, then to the pool.. which was wonderful! Dads got in for free today and it wasn't all that busy.. the water was perfect.. and we forgot just how hot it was outside.
Then we had an ice cream at Dairy Queen and dropped off a card to Grandpa Hoctor.. then home to relax.. Evie and I are sitting around listening to songs from the movie "Chicken Little".. not sure if there is a soundtrack for it, but I found a few of her favorite songs from the movie on Limewire to download.. we ended up with "Don't Go breaking my heart" by Elton John and Kiki Dee, "Shake a Tail Feather" by the Cheetah Girls, and "If You Wanna Be My Lover", (really called "Wannabe"), by the Spice Girls.. I was kinda hoping to find the versions sung by the cast from Chicken Little, (Steve Zahn and Joan Cuzack), but had to settle for the origionals.. Evie still thinks it's great.. she's dancing around me as I type.
It wouldn't be a good blog if I didn't add a few pics of Evie! I took a few yesterday after putting her new ponytail in from Libby Lu's.. it's an awesome hair extention that matches her hair perfectly.. we wore it to breakfast this morning, too.. and to the eye doctor.. everyone there commented how long her hair was getting.. (he he heh)..

Here's the one from breakfast this morning.. we were sitting outside of Cracker Barrell.. Daddy is smiling for the camera, but Evie wouldn't look at me.. I used the camea phone so the quality isn't as great.. but you get the idea! Hope everyone had a nice day!

Libby Lu's.. again.. with a friend

Well.. we went to Libby Lu's in Chicago again, this time with my friend, Dee and Evie's friend, Brynn. The girls had a great time getting their makeovers.. they both picked the "Disco Diva" hair this time.. complete with pink and blonde hair extentions. We also took them to the Rainforest Cafe, where they loved the "thunder and lightening storms"!

Best friends

Evie played with her friend, Brayden this morning.. the two swam in the pool, ate lunch together, and swang on the swings together.. I snapped a few shots but the best shots of all were the ones that I found on Kylla's blog.. she managed to find a picture of Evie and Bray when they were babies in almost the same pose! I hope she doesn't mind, but I had to post them here as well.. I was in tears when I saw them!

Just priceless!

Here are the ones that I shot today.

And later, Evie and I went to the Sholem Pool and her friend, Brynn was there.. I thought they looked cute in their goggles together swimming underwater..

A Baby Shower

Today while my little girl was fishing with her Daddy and Grandpa, friends of mine threw me a baby shower! It was a lovely day and fun to just hang out with the gals!
Got lots of cute and much needed things for the new baby boy! We saved a few of the large things that we had when Evie was a baby, but most things, after 4 years, we needed to replace and since this is a boy, most things of Evie's were not gender appropriate anyway :o)
My friend, Dee was kind enough to open her home up to our friends and a few of my coworkers, as well as getting the most beautiful and best tasting cake I have ever had, Kylla headed the games and helped with decorating, Amy made the punch, my mother-in-law brought food, and Donita took pictures for me! It was certainly a group effort and I appreciate everything that was contributed.. I couldn't ask for nicer friends and family!
Here are just some of the pictures that Donita took today!

The beautiful and delicious cake!

The clay babies that we all sculpted as a shower game.. mine was TERRIBLE!

Pictured are Katie, Kylla, my mother-in-law, Dori, and Juli.

Fishing with Daddy

While Mommy was having her baby shower today, Evie went fishing on the pond with Daddy and Grandpa. She caught 4 fish! Daddy wanted to share these photos!

Friday Funsters

Well today was Evie's first day of "school". We are calling it "school" because it's a summer day camp called "Friday Funsters" and is held once a week at the place where her "preschool" will be in the fall. This is a great class to get her prepared for staying somewhere without Mommy and she has the same teachers for this day camp that she will have in the fall when she goes three full days.
She did wonderfully! I was nervous that she would be bothered by me leaving her somwhere that she knows no one, but it didn't phase her a bit. The teachers said that she managed just fine, actually leading the kids in most of the games and songs. I feel so lucky to have waited to start her in this when she is 4 years old when I know that she is "grown-up" enough to handle it without feeling seperation anxiety. She's excited for next week already, and so am I.. it's the first time Mommy has actually had time away from her as well.. (besides going to work!) On Friday mornings now, I go to an "expected mothers/baby playgroup" while she is in class and it was refreshing to attend a group without having to watch to make sure Evie is behaving! LOL
My little girl is growing up!

Swimming at home

We had a HOT day yesterday! 95 degrees but super windy.

So we filled up the pool and spent the day outside! Here are some cute pictures of my little swimmer.. one of them is her swimming underwater to me. What a cool chickie!
