Wisconsin Dells

For Memorial Day Weekend, we went to Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells. http://www.mtolympusthemepark.com/

We had a great time.. it's no Disney... but for the money, it was fun. I call it a bunch of small water parks and county fairs.. with a few larger wooden roller coasters.

She enjoyed the teacups with Mama..

Then bumper cars with Daddy, along with some cool fast Go Karts that Daddy had to drive around a very long track..

She played Mini golf, and did a fantastic job putting...

Then she rode a few rides with Daddy and the swings by herself.. also a roller coaster.. that I didn't get any good pitures of her on.. darnnit...

And the coolest thing was that she drove go karts all by herself for the first time ever! I have never been so proud to see her use the pedals and stop and go correctly.. she was cruising, too.. all around the track racing the others.. going around them with ease. She never crashed, and steered wonderfully!

There were several race tracks, with different levels of difficulty, and she did the beginner (the white car) and the intermediate track, (the silver race car).
Then she did the advanced ones with Daddy.. I think the biggest thing there at Mt. Olympus is definatly Go-Karts.. we had no idea.. so many different tracks and rides that focus around them. Of course, I could do none of them.. I was too worried that I might get rear rended and hit my tummy (plus, I'm not sure if my tummy would actually FIT into one of those!)

The water parks were fun, however, the first day we were there, it rained all day so we took advantage of their indoor water park, "Bay of Dreams".. which was pretty fun.. there was a huge pirate ship with kiddie water slides for Evie to do.. a few big flumes for Joe.. I just swam and watched.
Yesterday, the sun was out, but was a bit chilly at 68 degrees.. later on, it warmed up enough that we laid out in the sun and took naps on lounge chairs.. Evie zonked out hard.. she was mad when we woke her up after about 45 minutes of being asleep in the sun.. (Yes, she was sunscreened, no she didn't burn), plus it was after 4 pm when we napped outside.. the outdoor pools were ICE COLD! The wave pool was so freaking freezing you coudn't let a wave touch you without shivering.. so we let her play in the kiddie pool a bit, then went back to the indoor park where the water was heated.

We had a very nice weekend.. but I will never understand the hype for the Wisconsin Dells.. I can't tell you how many people talk it up.. it's kind of a dirty little town, full of small, cheap, NOT LUXURY, motels that have swimming pools and waterslides. And from what I have heard, we actually stayed at the one that has the most activities.. like I said, we still had a blast.. mainly because it wasn't scorching hot.. there's not alot of walking to do throughout the park, and it wasn't very busy at all. Practically no lines. Evie wants to go back already LOL

Parenting techniques at OUR house!

This is so us! I remember this sketch years and years ago and thought it was hilarious.. but when I came across it again today, it was even funnier.. that's because I have a daughter that pushes all of my buttons! LOL
We always start off by being sweet and saying "please" , and it always turns into a shouting contest! LOL

So you have to picture me and Joe with these two! LOL

water fun and sleeping beauty

Mothers Day was extremely warm... Evie decided that she wanted to spray the ant colonies, (she is a true ant bully), although we have been trying to tell her that it's not very fair to destroy something that someone or some "thing" has built.. and she has become a little more sensitive.. but it's tough for her to resist flooding them out. Then she decided to turn the hose on herself.. that was hilarious and I had to snap some photos.

Tonight, she wanted to dress up like Cinderella.. although we should have chosen Sleeping Beauty or Snow White.. sure looks like she is waiting for "loves first kiss" to wake her.. what a doll!

And.. Evie took a photo of Mommy today! I thought she did really well.. I was leaning forward to show her the button and she took it. Too cute!

A nun walks into a bar...

I saw this joke today and thought that it was right up my alley!

A nun, badly needing to use the restroom, walked into a local Hooters.

The place was hopping with music and loud conversation and every once in a
while the lights would turn off. Each time the lights would go out, the
place would erupt into cheers.

However, when the revelers saw the nun, the room went dead silent. She
walked up to the bartender, and asked, "May I please use the restroom?

The bartender replied, "OK, but I should warn you that there is a statue
of a naked man in there wearing only a fig leaf. " Well, in that case I'll
just look the other way," said the nun.

So, the bartender showed the nun to the back of the restaurant. After a
few minutes, she came back out, and the whole place stopped just long
enough to give the nun a loud round of applause.

She went to the bartender and said, "Sir, I don't understand. Why did they
applaud for me just because I went to the restroom?"

"Well, now they know you're one of us," said the bartender, "Would you
like a drink?"

But, I still don't understand," said the puzzled nun.

"You see," laughed the bartender, "every time someone lifts the fig leaf
on that statue, the lights go out.

Now, how about that drink?"

OUCH!

Evie helped me wash the car today.. then we went to the vacuum cleaner at the car wash and I broke one of my sandals.. we both wanted a slushie from DQ while we were cleaning out the car so I thought we could just do the drive through and when we got there, the drive thru was being paved.. well here we were in the parking lot.. that meant I had to go in... with one good shoe and one that I could barely walk in ("no shoes no service", right?) I get to the door and I accidentily drag the bottom of the door across my toes on the foot with the good shoe, tearing my toes all up.. blood running everywhere.. I hobbled in, ordered our "arctic blasts", tossed my sandals in the garbage, wiped the blood off the best I could , (I left the skin that was hanging off), and went back to vacuum out the car.
My toes look horrendous LOL

Evie kept saying "I'm sorry that you hurt your foot, Mama" "I love you, can I help?" What a dear!
Right now, she's watching "The Upside Down Show".. (her favorite) while I relax.. it's hotter than hell ouutside and we've been out there all day.. playing on the swings, having a picnic, and washing the car.. (and everything else in the yard that she could find to wash).

I thought the day was going pretty nicely.. relaxing, etc.. nothing that we had to do.. until I broke that darn shoe.. and then it all went downhill from there LOL.. I didn't let it get to me, though.. we are still in high spirits, although my belly is too big for me to properly dress my toe with anything.

I hope everyone else is having a lovely day! You'll probably see me hobbling to playgroup at the park tomorrow! See ya!

The Planetarium

Tonight we went to The Planetarium for a free show and exhibits that were supposed to be geared towards pre K-2nd grade students. I was pretty disappointed. The show itself was terrible.. I was hoping they would take us on a cool tour of the planets.. make it flashy.. so was Evie.. but instead we saw stars in the sky and talked about a few constellations (like that means anything to that age group), then they let off a few rockets outside (the bottle rockets that we shoot off on the 4th of July are faster and go further), the exhibits inside reminded me of the movie "Vegas Vacation" when Clark and Eddie go to the casino that plays games like "War" and "pick a number" LOL You could "build a better rocket" which was an exhibit where you stacked cardboard pieces and plastic solo cups up like a pyramid.. and to be honest, it was the only one that we took part of..
The coolest part was that Curious George was there and I snapped a quick pic with the camera phone.. She loved him to pieces!
