Happy Halloween!

Hey all!! We had a lovely 70 degree day for Halloween! Evie had a parade and party at school so Evan and I went to school with her today. Evan had a great time watching the kids parade down the street and loved watching them sing songs in class.
Here's Evie as a pirate.. imagine that...
(and yes, I know.. I forgot her glasses this morning.. but I brought them to school an hour later!)

Here she is playing musical monsters in class..

And parading down the street..

And after school the kids played outside for about an hour.. it was so warm!
When Evan was napping, Evie and I carved pumpkins! Evie always paints them but today she actually carved one all by herself!

And then Evie and I went trick-or-treating while Daddy and Evan stayed home and passed out candy.

Here are the three pirates!

I'm sad that it's over.. it's our favorite holiday but we sure had fun with it this year!!

Happy Halloween all!

Halloween Party

We had our annual Moms and More Halloween Party yesterday and Evan had a great time. Evie had school this year, being a big Kindegartener now, so she wasn't able to attend.
Arrrr! Evan and I are Pirates!
Evie is too.. I'll get some pics up of her on Halloween.
Sorry bout the shadow on this pic.. I loved Evan's smile so I kept it, but the flash somehow cast a funny darkness above us.

ARRR! Gettin' some ale from the Tavern (actually, the play kitchen but for Pirate's sake, a tavern)

Getting into mischief Eliza Firehazzard (that's my Pirate name) and the little Scurvy Pirate (that's what Evie and I call him)

"What do you do with a scurvy pirate? What do you do with a scurvy pirate? What do you do with a scurvy pirate? Make him walk the plank!"

A quick video of Evan wanting to play in the cozy coupe at the party.. But Calvyn (Curious George), is in it.

And here's what happened right after he couldn't get into that little car

He's mastered the art of throwing a fit... I think it's funny that they all want the same toys. For the most part they play by themselves at this age. It's cute to see them interact.

Evan's friend, Evan (yes, I meant to type Evan twice.. he has a buddy with the same name) The costume contest winner, The Man with the Yellow Hat!! So adorable!

Rhylan as the infamous Mike Wyzowski!

Little zebra Garren with my friend, Wendy.. great smiles, you too!

I'll get more pics up soon!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Goofy friends

We love meeting Mandi and her kids at themall for playdates!
Here's Evie, Alex and Anthony being silly together.

Brrr!

It's a cloudy and chilly day outside. BRRRR!
We enjoyed our day, though.. EVan and I played this morning.. he's decided that he likes the "hair dryer" game... he walks over to the bathroom door where I am blow drying my hair, and he laughs when I turn it on him then runs the other direction.. over and over, until I am done drying my hair.
Here's a cute pic of me and Ev this morning.

Then on to pick up Evie from school..and over to our friend, Erika's house for a short while and home. Evie wanted to have a picnic for lunch, so since it is so cold outside we spread out our pincic blanket on the living room floor in front of the tv and the three of us ate our lunch there. Evan totally gets the idea of a picnic.. he parked his butt right in the middle of the blanket the moment I put it down and got right into his food. And into my food.. and into Evie's food. Seems our food was more attractive to him than his food (that was exactly the same thing). :)

Here's Evie and I during our picnic lunch.

And I thought this was a cute outfit.. wanted to share it with ya since Evie was being so photogenic before school the other day.
Thanks to Dee who helped me choose orange leggings for this outfit yesterday.. (the black ones are looking a bit on the small side, don't you think?)

We have a big week ahead of us! Evie has "Super Saturday" at school tomorrow from 9-12 where they take 3 different classes that are extra curricular activities.. at 9 am, Evie is the guest instructor along with Master Newberry teaching taeqwondo to her peers from K and 1st grade for an hour. Then at 10 am she takes a class called "flip flops and lunch sacks", I'm thinking it's an arts class.. and then at 11 am she takes "Funky Fun with Science" I can only imagine how much fun that class will be!

Seems there is some fall festival/party thing going on after that in Champaign that we're gonna try to go to...

Monday is our annual Mothers and More patry, (Evie won't be attending this year, she'll be in school) Evan will have fun, though!
Monday night, Trick-or-treating at the mall..

Friday, Halloween!! Evie has a parade at school and a party. Evan and I will most likely attend that and we plan on trick or treating that night and popping into Newberry's academy sometime between 6 and 8 pm for their Halloween festival there!

I'm sure there are more events that we will try to make it to during the week.

Happy Fall and Happy Halloween everyone!

Fall is here!

We've had some lovely fall days so far.. sunny and warm in the afternoons (about 65 degrees) and just a bit chilly in the evenings and mornings.

We chose our pumpkins last week, Evan hasn't really showed much interest in them so I gave him a ride in our wagon this afternoon with the littlest pumpkins that Evie painted last weekend. He kept rearranging them in the wagon and putting them on his lap. It was sweet to see him be so tedious about the whole re-arranging bit.

Evie played "Pirate" with her sword while we rode around the yard. I took a few pictures of them out in front of the house by the spooky fencing and graveyard.

Halloween is almost here!! YAY!

CREEPY!

Joe and I LOVE Haloween.. there's no better holiday in our books.
We decorated our front yard with tombstones, a body coming up out of the ground and lit it all with a green spotlight. Behind it is the fog machine and at night it is a sight to behold! Cars are driving by very slowly tonight to see our spooky, foggy graveyard.

Here are pics I took at dusk.. it looks WAY cooler when it's dark, everything glows green.
