Time to let go...

My Grandmother finally gave up last night about 9:30 pm.
She had been in a coma like state for the past week, she was really suffering before that. Her leg had not healed from the break she had gotten in the nursing home while she was rehabilitating from multiple strokes.
I am thankful that the kids and I had the chance to go down to Florida in April to see her and say, "Goodbye".
I regret that our lives take us so far away from the ones that we love, our cherished family.
I did manage to spend quite a bit of time with her in my lifetime, though. In my childhood, it seems she was around alot.. for holidays and events up until I was a teenager.

Then we moved away and later she would move in with my parents and I spent alot of time with her again.

It wasn't until I was in my 20s that I lost touch.. I sent cards and pictures, gave phone calls, but saw her when I could.

My daughter, Evie got to meet her for the first time three years ago when she was just a toddler. 2 years old. I am thankful that I took some pictures of them together.

And these pictures are from our very last visit with her..

I'll miss you, Grandma!

What a loving, sweet post, Tina. I am so glad you got to see her in April. I understand being so far from your family. It really sucks.
